St. Michaels Mount, NATIONAL TRUST
St. Michaels mount is a magical island in the Cornish crown. It is a
Granite Crag which rises from the waters of Mount's Bay is
surmounted by the embattled Medieval castle, home of the St. Aubyn
Family for over 300 years. Flanks are softened by lush sub-tropical
plants and foliage, and on the waters edge there is a picturesque harbour
from where the Tin was shipped in acient times and which today features
shops and restaurants.
Located half a mile South of the A394 at Marazion. Access on foot over causway
is at low tide only. Access by ferry at high tide. Open in the Summer Months Only.
